Why am I not receiving Verdocs email notifications?

Troubleshooting steps to take if transactional notification emails are not showing up in the primary inbox.

Has someone told you they sent you a document to sign, but you never got the email? Verdocs sends transactional messages when envelopes are sent, reminders are issued, and other signing events occur. Those messages are sometimes filtered by your email provider, corporate mail server, or inbox rules before they reach you.

This article covers the most common causes and what to do about them.

Solution 1: Check spam and add trusted senders

  • Check your Junk or Spam folder. If you find a Verdocs message there, mark it as Not junk or Not spam so future messages are delivered to your inbox.
  • Add Verdocs as trusted senders in your email client (sometimes called Safe senders or Trusted senders). Allowlist these addresses:
    • support@verdocs.com
    • noreply@verdocs.com
    • notifications@verdocs.com
  • Forward these steps to your IT team if you use a corporate mailbox (Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, etc.):
    • Allow email from the domain verdocs.com and the sender addresses listed above.
    • Review quarantine, advanced threat protection, and third-party email security gateways for blocked messages from Verdocs.
    • Confirm your mail server accepts modern TLS (TLS 1.2 or later).

After your IT team or email provider updates their filters, ask the sender to resend the envelope or send a reminder so a fresh message is delivered.

Solution 2: Confirm the correct email address

Verdocs sends notifications to the email address on the envelope for each recipient. If you use multiple inboxes or aliases, the message may have gone to a different address than the one you are checking.

  • Ask the sender which email they used for you on the envelope.
  • If you have access to the sending application or portal, confirm your profile or recipient record shows the right address.
  • Typos in the recipient email are a frequent cause of “missing” notifications. The sender may need to correct the address and resend.

Solution 3: Access the document without waiting for email

If you need to sign right away:

  • Open the signing link from another channel. The sender’s application may provide a direct signing URL, in-app notification, or SMS (if enabled on their account).
  • Use embedded signing if the sender’s product supports it—you may complete the document inside their app without relying on email delivery.

If you still cannot access the envelope, contact the sender or your organization’s Verdocs administrator.

Solution 4: Notification settings and how your sender delivers mail

Not every Verdocs integration sends email from Verdocs directly.

  • Some platforms use bring-your-own notification and deliver invite links from their own domain instead of notifications@verdocs.com. If your sender uses that mode, check messages from their company’s domain as well.
  • Reminders and some follow-up messages are email-only. If you received the first invite through another channel but expected a later reminder by email, confirm with the sender that reminders are enabled and that your address is correct.
  • If you are a Verdocs platform administrator, review notification templates and workflow settings in your organization to ensure the expected events are configured to send email.

Still need help?

If you have completed the steps above and still do not receive expected messages:

  • Ask the sender to verify the envelope was sent successfully and to resend or issue a reminder.
  • Contact support@verdocs.com with the email address you expected to receive mail on, the approximate send time, and the name of the organization that sent the document.

Your IT team can also request delivery details from the sender’s administrator if messages are being blocked at the organizational level.
