Ensuring documents are signed by the correct individuals is a crucial component in e-signing workflows. To help achieve this, we have added several new authentication methods to our platform. These may be selected on a per-recipient basis when creating new envelopes to sign:
- Passcode: A pre-defined password or PIN code is set by the sender. This method is best suited for cases where the sender has a pre-existing, extended relationship with the recipient. Typically, the passcode is determined ahead of time by the recipient and kept on file by the sender.
- Email One-Time-Passcode: A 6-digit passcode will be emailed to the recipient. This code is valid for 1 hour, after which a new code may be requested if necessary.
- SMS One-Time-Passcode: A 6-digit passcode will be sent via SMS to the recipient. This code is valid for 1 hour, after which a new code may be requested if necessary.
- Knowledge-based Authentication: The recipient will be prompted for personal details such as their address and date of birth, then challenged with questions such as prior addresses to verify their identity.
- Scan/Verify: The recipient will be prompted to capture their photograph and government-issued identity documents such as their license or passport.
NOTE: Some methods such as SMS and KBA require activation before they may be used. Some fees may apply.
